About / Communication Prize
CAETS Communication Prize 2027.
The annual CAETS Communication Prize, the Global Award for Engineering Communication, is awarded to the most outstanding audiovisual communication of excellence and innovation in technological sciences or engineering.
What is it?
$10.000 for excellent engineering communication.
The CAETS Communication Prize is presented during Tuesday’s plenary closing session.
What the prize looks for. Known as the Global Award for Engineering Communication, it rewards short videos (up to five minutes) from CAETS member academies that explain the societal value of an engineering or technology breakthrough to a general and student audience. Winning entries clearly identify a problem and its engineering solution, with a demonstrable economic or societal benefit. Finalists are shortlisted from academies worldwide, and the winner is announced live during the conference. Details for the 2027 edition, eligibility, submission process and jury composition, are being finalised alongside the rest of the CAETS 2027 programme and will be published here as they are confirmed.
Why it matters
Engineering that isn’t understood doesn’t get built.
The prize sits alongside NAE’s own mission, increasing understanding of technology in society and with policy makers. It recognises the people who make frontier engineering legible to broad audiences.
