About / CAETS

The International Council of Academies of Engineering & Technological Sciences.

CAETS is the global collective of engineering academies, bringing together excellent engineers from around the world.

Who they are

The symposium: a yearly gathering point for 31 national engineering academies.

CAETS organises a yearly symposium to strengthen connections between engineering academies and share inspiration across borders. The participants for CAETS 2027 will travel from across its member countries, spanning Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and beyond.

Each year a different member academy hosts the symposium, setting a theme that reflects an engineering challenge of global relevance. For 2027, that host is the Netherlands Academy of Engineering, and the theme is water: from foe to friend.
